Robert Wright and I meet every two weeks or so to discuss the issues of the day. This is a joint production of Small Potatoes and Bob’s Non-Zero Podcast. Here’s the most recent meeting.
Honestly, I don’t think it went so well. Usually it’s light and jokey, but I was upset by current events—a political assassination, Trump’s successful attack on free speech, MAGA incitement toward civil war—and I think it showed. Maybe that makes for a less enjoyable experience. The overtime segment was better, where we talked about sex, Robert Redford, and AI, and I made a joke about strip clubs that cracked Bob up.
For those who might be puzzled by my response to Bob asking me how I am doing, here’s the reference.
0:00 Free speech after Charlie Kirk
20:04 Tyler Robinson’s strange messages
27:56 How influential was Kirk?
35:35 Do violent video games encourage violence?
48:07 Overtime topics: Paul’s debate triumph, Redford’s legacy, etc.
55:08 Heading into Overtime
Paid subscribers get the overtime segment, which includes:
0:00 The varieties of sexual experience
21:45 AI peril and progress
They also get a special discount offer to Bob’s podcast/newsletter.
